Svatá Klára restaurant (or Saint Klara), whose name came from a nearby chapel patroness, was originally a wine-cellar in one of Prague’s vineyards near the baroque castle Troja. Its grapes were brought to their present location by the emperor Charles IV in the 14th century. Created from a cave approximately 52 feet beyond the surface, after the completion of Troja it was used to store Count Václav Vojtìch of Sternberk´s wines.
Today, after a sensible remodeling project, the owners have succeeded in creating a unique restaurant filled with antique furniture, baroque statues, period paintings and Persian carpets. A dominating fire-place and pleasant music create a comfortable atmosphere, satisfying even the most demanding guests.
The extensive menu offers a variety of local and foreign wines. Agreeable and professional service also add to its beloved atmosphere. Its prestige is due not only to its unique interior but also to the wide variety of delicious foods that are available. Svatá Klára’s menu ranges from traditional and modern to trendy and seasonal.
